Each year, on the Saturday before the Super Bowl, Athletes In Action hosts
the Super Bowl Breakfast,
where they present the Bart Starr award to an
NFL player who "exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home,
on the field and in the community."
Athletes In Action works with athletes
and coaches (college and professional) around the world to talk about Jesus Christ
through sports.
Bart Starr attended the University of Alabama. He was with the Packers as quarterback
from 1956 through 1971, and head coach from 1975 through 1983. He was the MVP of
the first two Super Bowls. He and his wife, Cherry, are "giving back" by spending
much of their time with the
Rawhide Boys Ranch.
